About Ionosphere

With the help of your equipped rocket thrusters, make your way from planet to planet, collecting ions while avoiding asteroids, meteor showers, enemies, and other interstellar obstacles. How many solar systems can your conquer with the help of your intrepid robot?

Ionosphere is a scene-based, downward-scrolling avoidance game featuring multiple levels of increasing difficulty, configurable power-ups, and physics-based gameplay.

Gameplay is similar to traditional endless mode, impossible-style games, without the headaches that drive me mad. Ionosphere saves your progress within levels, and periodically rewards you with powerful power-ups (especially near difficult sections) so that you can actually face different challenges. For fans of impossible-mode games, you can unlock an endless mode that will have you pulling your hair out.

Ionosphere is 100% free: there is no cost to purchase, no in-app purchases, no ads, no data collection.

How to Play

Tap the screen to fire your robot's thrusters, and make your way through the levels. Rather than jumping through levels, you will guide your robot downward by firing its thrusters to control your descent. Collect yellow, orange, and red ions, but avoid the other obstacles and traps. You'll find power-ups scattered throughout the levels, especially near some of the more challenging sections.

Availability

Ionosphere was built with the Cocos2d-x framework, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. It's available through Google Play for Android devices and the Apple Store for iOS devices. It's no longer being actively maintained, and will be removed from those platforms as compatibility expires.
